Flavours Restaurant is a premier Nigerian restaurant in Calgary known for delivering authentic cuisine and exceptional hospitality. Following our recent expansion to a larger Centre Street location—tripling our guest capacity—we are seeking a skilled Restaurant Manager to lead operations and manage the business’s rapid growth.
Role Summary
The Restaurant Manager will oversee all daily operations of a high-capacity restaurant, ensuring excellence in service, team leadership, financial performance, and guest experience. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong business acumen and a deep appreciation for Nigerian cuisine and culture.
Key Responsibilities
l Lead and manage all front-of-house and back-of-house operations
l Supervise, train, and schedule staff in a high-volume environment
l Ensure top-tier customer service and culturally authentic guest experience
l Maintain food quality, safety, and compliance with Alberta Health standards
l Manage budgets, control costs, and drive profitability
l Oversee inventory, supplier relations, and sourcing of Nigerian ingredients
l Handle customer concerns and maintain brand reputation
l Support marketing efforts, events, and community engagement
Qualifications
l 3–5+ years of restaurant management experience (high-volume preferred)
l Strong knowledge of Nigerian cuisine (e.g., jollof rice, suya, egusi, pounded yam)
l Proven leadership and team management skills
l Solid financial and operational management experience
l Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
l Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
l Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation
l $32.00 – $37.00 per hour (based on experience)
