This top-notch bridal outfit is looking for an experienced Bridal & Formal Gown Senior Seamstress (Dress Patternmaker, NOC 53125) to join our team.
The successful candidate must be experienced and ready to join the winning team.
Some of the duties and responsibilities of the suitable candidate will include:
Responsibilities
■ Be intentional and specific to draw, lay out, and cut the master pattern of products and or clients’ materials and fabrics.
■ Follow the Altered Gown’s culture to create pattern size variations from master patterns using computer or drafting instruments.
■ Be able to lay out the master pattern on fabric and cut the sample pattern
■ Scrutnize sketches, samples of articles, and specifications of designs to determine the number, size, and shape of pattern parts and assess the amount of cloth required to make a product.
■ Estimate the amount of material or fabric required to make a product.
■ Mark size, identification, style, and sewing instructions on sample patterns.
■ Outline parts of patterns on paper and mark patterns to indicate details such as the placement of pockets and pleats on garments, decorative stitching on shoe parts, or eyelets on canvas products.
Qualifications/Competencies: Qualified candidates must have
■ A college diploma or apprenticeship training.
■ 1-2 years or more than 6 months of on-the-job experience.
■ Expertise in bridal gown and formal wear pattern making.
■ Knowledge of fabrics used in the industry.
■ Great customer service.
■ Strong problem-solving skills
■ Strong verbal communication
■ An upbeat personality
■ Able to work in a team environment
■ Great attention to detail
