A Family Medicine and Walk-in Clinic with locations at 744 26 Street, Fort MacLeod, Alberta is looking to employ a Primary Care Nurse to join the practice. The successful candidate will provide professional nursing care, coordinate patient-centered primary healthcare services, and support the delivery of quality medical care within the clinic setting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Assess patients’ health conditions through nursing assessments and medical history reviews.
· Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and nurse practitioners.
· Monitor patients’ progress and document nursing care plans and clinical observations accurately.
· Coordinate primary healthcare services and follow-up care for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
· Educate patients and families on health management, disease prevention, medications, and treatment plans.
· Assist physicians during examinations and medical procedures.
· Perform immunizations, wound care, injections, and other nursing procedures within scope of practice.
· Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with provincial healthcare regulations and professional nursing standards.
· Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community resources to be free of care.
· Participate in infection prevention and control procedures and maintain a safe clinical environment.
· Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and urgent patient care situations.
· Maintain accurate electronic medical records and clinic documentation.
Employment Requirements
· Completion of an approved Registered Nursing program.
· Successful candidates should prepare to register with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
· Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant nursing experience in primary care, family medicine, community health, or clinical practice.
· Strong communication, organizational, and patient care coordination skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
· Knowledge of electronic medical records systems is preferred.

· Compassionate, professional, and culturally sensitive approach to patient care.
· Ability to communicate effectively in additional languages such as Yoruba or Igbo is considered an asset.
Employment Details
· Position Title: Primary Care Nurse
· Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
· Wage: $47.50 – $48.00 per hour
· Vacation: 3 weeks paid vacation annually
